COLLEGE PARK, Ga. — A College Park bakery owner was killed after a Friday robbery, police said.
An armed man walked up to the Sunset Thrifty Bakery and Meats shop on Roosevelt Highway, College Park police said. They said the gunman demanded an employee to give him cash.
When the clerk handed over $100, the gunman said it wasn’t good enough and turned to leave the store, police said.
The store owner then walked up from back of the store. When the robber saw the owner, he shot him, police said.
The victim was transported to Grady Hospital, where he later died. By the time police arrived on the scene, the robber was gone. Surveillance video showed that he left on foot.
