A father has filed a wrongful death claim against the city as well as several other defendants after his three daughters were killed in a Christmas morning fire in Stamford, Connecticut. According to the lawsuit, the fire was caused by negligent construction and a failure on the city to properly inspect and issue building permits.

In the event of an injury or death resulting from failed maintenance or dangerous premises, victims and their families can file premises liability claims against all responsible individuals or entities. According to the lawsuit, there were five named defendants, including the city of Stamford, a contractor, the architect, electrician, and general contractor listed on the building permit of the home. The associated companies of the defendants were also listed.
