Illinois High Court: Punitive Claim Does Not Survive Death

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. - Punitive damages based on "willful and wanton violation" of the Illinois Nursing Home Care Act are not available if the nursing home resident who allegedly was injured by those violations has died, the state Supreme Court held March 24 (Thomas Vincent v.
