TRENTON, N.J. – The New Jersey Superior Court Appellate Division on June 28 reversed a ruling on a summary judgment motion filed by a limited liability partner of a nursing home charged with negligence in the care of one of its residents. The appeals court determined that although corporate veil piercing is allowable under state law regarding limited liability partnerships, the plaintiff failed to overcome the requirements to pierce the veil (Sanford Canter v. Lakewood of Voorhees, d/b/a Lakewood of Voorhees Associates, et al., No. A-1795-10T1, N.J. App. Div.; 2011 N.J. Super. LEXIS 117).
