Tennessee Court Dismisses Federal Nursing Home Action

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - U.S. Judge Thomas A. Varlan of the Eastern District of Tennessee on July 15 dismissed with prejudice a Tennessee Medical Malpractice Act (TMMA) cause of action against Summit View of Farragut, a nursing facility. The plaintiff failed to comply with the notice and expert witness requirements in the state's medical malpractice law, Judge Varlan said (Robin Southwell v.
