SAN DIEGO – The family of Rebecca Zahau has filed a federal wrongful death lawsuit claiming she was murdered.
Her body was found hanging at her boyfriend Jonah Shacknai’s Coronado mansion after his son fell from an inside staircase while in her care and died from his injuries a few days later. Zahau’s death was ruled a suicide.
The lawsuit names Jonah Shacknai’s brother, ex-wife and her twin sister. It alleges that Adam Shacknai, Dina Shacknai and Nina Romano “participated in some manner in the planning, implementation, execution and subsequent concealment of the scheme to murder” Zahau.
Saturday marks the two-year anniversary of Zahau’s death.
